The proposal was to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server
and rename
SetupTv.exe.config to SetupTv.config
TvService.exe.config to TvService.config
Thanks rekenaar - that was what I meant, only I wasn't at home at the time so I couldn't specify the files.
pierre: from your log, it looks like TV Server is starting properly now. What do you do to get the error message - is it starting the service, or trying to open TV Server configuration... or something else?
mm
Now, I have removed the ".exe" part from both SetupTv.exe.config TvService.exe.config.
The problem I am experiencing is no error messages but no TV either in MediaPortal. The error message I posted on Nov 10, 00:38 appeared only once and I never got any other error messages. But in MediaPortal, I just have a blank black screen (see enclosed pictures) no TV, not even «snow» (I know snow was with analog TV...).
I have tryed with and wiithout commenting out the last two lines of C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file with no difference in the result.
So have you scanned for channels in TV Server configuration, then renamed and grouped those channels as per your preferences? The way to select a channel in MP is to click on the "channels" button then select a channel. If you haven't created channel groups in TV Server configuration then you may not see any channels - in that case you would need to ensure that you don't enable "hide all channels group" (-->here<-- in MP config).
In the second screenshot you have selected "TV streams" - that won't work unless the TV Server has streams from other clients running.
