Hey this is great!, I'm down in New Zealand and we'r just about to get our first free to air satellite TV (with like 5 whole cahnnels!;)) And I'm told the they will ony be providing the EPG via MHEG-5. So I guess this project came along just in time for us MP users dowunder! :) They have started testing mheg I think so maybe I could provide some data if required?
:D Thanks for all your effort guys.:D

    Rhys.Goodwin, That would be awesome. Once we have the standalone app for DSM-CC processing in shape I'll get you a copy. It will download the MHEG application. Otherwise you could try http://redbutton.sourceforge.net. There is a DSM-CC downloader there but it's for Linux. If you've got the facilities then this could be really useful.

    cool, yeah I don't a have a dvb card in any of my linux machines and to be honest I don't know what DSM-CC is; I'm pretty green with mheg and dvb in general but keen as to help in anyway I can. If it would be particularly useful to you I'd be more than happy to throw another hdd in my media pc and laod linux/redbutton. Just let me know :)
    Cheers,
    Rhys

    This would be very useful. The stand-alone DSM-CC processing app isn't coming on as quickly as I'd hoped. (DSM-CC is the transport method for MHEG files as defined by DVB standards). Could you run rb-download and send me the files it creates, and if you get time, some screenshots of rb-browser running with the downloaded files would be ultimate (So I can check the output from my MHEG engine).
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi guys. I can provide a full ts dump if you'd like something to work on! Also I'll see if I can get anything out of the windows utils i've been playing with. I know one of them has the option to dump the files from the mheg stream but that might only be the registered version of the program!

    Cheers guys, this is great. We are good for ts dumps at the moment but mheg stream files would be very useful. Thanks

    Hi Guys, I installed ubuntu this morning and got every thing working and redbutton complied. I can used dvbtune to lock on to a transponder but not to sure what rb_download options to call. I used "scan" to get a channels.conf; ran the following command and got:

    Code:
    root@ubmedia:/rb_download/#dvbtune -f 1183000 -tone 0 -p h -s 22500 && ./rb-download -f channels.conf -b /home/rhys/tvnzmheg -c 26000
    Using DVB card "ST STV0299 DVB-S"
    tuning DVB-S to L-Band:0, Pol:H Srate=22500000, 22kHz=off
    polling....

    I don't see anything in the base dir "/home/rhys/tvnzmheg" except an empty dir called cache

    I'm not sure if you UK guys are just using DVB-T? I'm using DVB-S

    ok I see I was meant to put the ID at the end. Like this:

    Code:
    #dvbtune -f 1183000 -p h -tone 0 -s 22500 && ./rb-download -v -b /home/rhys/tvnzmheg -f channels.conf 1035
    Using DVB card "ST STV0299 DVB-S"
    tuning DVB-S to L-Band:0, Pol:H Srate=22500000, 22kHz=off
