UK Digital Switch Over Winter Hill Changes (1 Viewer)

Have not seen this posted yet so here are the details

you need to change the dvbt file found in (this is windows xp)

c:\documents and setting\all users\application data\team mediaportal\mediaportal tv server\tuningparameters\

open the file with notepad and then do edit > find enter winter and click find next

this should skip to the winter hill section of the file. Now we need to change the transmission frequencies as follows

778000
802167
737000 <<< this is for new HD tv service does not work on mine may work if you have HD tuning card
770000
794000
746000


Once done save the file and then goto server setup and retune.

Appologies if I have got something wrong but it all appears to be working on my setup.

Thanks simon169, i have search for the new Frequency for winterhill uk freeview for the retune today, and the ones i have differ from yours all work for me
these are the new Frequency i found

I have retuned and ALL radio has vanished, but TV is working OK!

I'll probably do it again tomorrow after they have finished buggering about with it

On the ITV channels & othrs on MUX2 I have now noticed some breakup appearing due to low signal strength - maybe they will increase the power on this at some point.

yes my radio was not working but then came on after double checking settings did not change anything though maybe they are still messing with things

I suspect still checking things as the signal strength and quality for MUX2 (778,000Mhz) is varying greatly.

I'm going to leave everything until tomorrow and see how it is then

I live in Nelson and are seeing the same with ITV, five etc signal strength all on CH25 506000Mhz. Guess they are still messing.

I've still no radio and most of the TV channels are fine with the exception of Five, Yesterday & Dave ja vu.

I'm going to delete all TV and Radio channels and start again.

Just by way of an update. I was getting bad pixelation on some channels in addition to no radio, so I deleted all TV & Radio channels and started again.

Geting a good signal now, and all major channels are there including radio and the picture is very good.

I did realise though that I had some channels missing:-

You are missing 746.0Mhz which the above channels are on.

Thanks Ray! I didn't search using the Winter Hill setting, I did it with the All UK setting...I'll have to amend the xml file.

Amended the .xml file. Found no signal on 746Mhz. Did a scan using ChannelScan and it locked onto 746Mhz, but said the signal was of poor quality.

I took out my Hauppauge T500 card and put in my Peak Dual Tuner card instead. Tried scanning again, this time it found the 746Mhz channels. The channels it found are breaking up visually due to poor signal strength.

I'm hoping to get my pal around to check out my aerial and cables, I don't know if that will help as the TV's built in DVB tuner has picked up everything fine.
