    The better the quality of the tuner and demod will give less errors on the stream and lead to better recording and viewing experience.

    BER has a dramatic affect on final quality.

    Well ideally you should buy one that supports DVB-S2 rather than just DVB-S. I can't see why that usb tuner has 2 inputs though as it makes no mention of having dual tuners.

    Does it not have 2 connectors as one is a lnb passthrough? That would be what I'd expect.

    Thanks for the help guys - sat tuners are a unknown quantity to me as I've only ever used DVB-T.

    Are there any external tuners that have two tuners built in so I don't have to use two seperate cards, both requiring a power socket, usb port etc..?
    Also just noticed I have a firewire port so thats also an option for connectivity.
