UK Live TV - Channel 4HD lip sync issue (1 Viewer)

Hello.. I'm just wondering why only Channel 4HD has a noticeable delay on the audio. I can't see any problems with the other HD channels (BBC One, BBC, ITV) or the SD channels. There is no evidence of audio drifting on any channels, just a permanent delay on this one channel.

All channels use LAV video and audio decoders.

Is this a problem for anyone else? Can I add a channel specific audio delay somehow?

I have had his problem with some versions of MP in the past, but I can't remember which ones. I used to used FFDShow for my TV Audio CODEC, because it allows you to put an audio delay in, which created a good compromise between all the HD channels. I think I used 40ms.

I seem to remember that this problem went away with MP1.2.2 (I think), but I don't know if this was a coincidence, or if there was a change in the code then.

Thank for the reply but it is only 1 channel that has the issue. LAV audio decoder also allows an audio delay but it seems like the wrong solution as all other channels are fine

I've noticed this on Freeview Ch4 HD with the Paralympics coverage (sometimes). I suspect it's a broadcast problem, but I haven't got around to checking with a standalone HD box to see if it's the same.

I think you were seeing the same thing as me Tony. I also noticed it in the Paralympics (as well as other programs) and I had started to convince myself that it was only the presenters in the studio who were out of sync while the outside broadcasts were OK. Did you notice that?
