My fellow MP users,
For some reason, about twice a week, when I get home from work, I am not able to watch tv because there goes something wrong.

Sometimes it's the following message:
"Failed to start timeshifting
Unable to add streambuffersink filter"

Sometimes it's the message "All tuners are busy" when nothing is recording or playing (I have 3 tuners, two analog (PVR 500), one digital (FloppyDTV))

And sometimes I get back on sunday from a night out, I turn on the tv and I get a empty tvguide. When I go to recorded tv, its empty too. Plus, it didn't record anything in the night from saterday to sunday! I have to restart MP to get it working again...

As you can see, I cannot say it's a stable version for me, it's unreliable for me unfortunately... And it's not something I can reproduce on demand, these failures just sometimes pop up....
Is anyone familiar with these problems or has someone a solution for one of those problems (or not, but you recognise it) please let me know! :D

    hi

The only thing i can find by googling, is a permissions error, and that's recording to a network drive, regarding the "unable to add streambuffersink filter".

If one of the devvers could say it's a known problem or not,

No problem, that i have heard about.

Stange you lost your EPG as well, was this after coming out of standby, and which type of EPG information are you using, assuming tvguide.xml import as analogue.

It's like a failure to connect to database, so you have lost all info.

Could be a Vista permissions causing this, i know if i try running MP with UAC enabled, i get failed recordings to local D: drive, but then i use this particular pc for various software so it suites me to have UAC off, and i have never followed up why they failed.

More information the better, saying i have same problem is not very helpful.

Attached is the logs from when I recreate the error.

I simply set the Hauppauge 2200 tuners as the highest priority and then record something. While recording, MP will attempt to use the second (doesn't matter which of the two) tuner. Siwtching the order of the tuners does not impact on the problem.

The Dvico website (Yes, I know it is a Hauppauge card at the root of the problem ;)) makes mention of the StreamBuffer problem being caused by sbe.dll not being registered. I registered the DLL, but it did not improve the situation.

Note: I have also updated my profile to give a complete list of the specs of my system.

well...at least I'm not the only one with this problem :)
It only happens very rarely...once per 2 weeks or something.
