I was all excited because frodo added this:

On 10/03/2006 [07:28:13] _Frodo_ added the following change: fixed ss2 blank autotune tab

I loaded the latest CVS on and now it can't even find the card. I know for a fact I was able to find it just hours before because I was seeing if that tab had been fixed with the last CVS.

Can anyone else load the latest CVS to see if this breaks detecting your card

I think I will do a full uninstall and load on yesterdays CVS and then test it again.

EDIT: Here is my procedure in uninstalling and reinstalling MP.
1. Backup the whole directory so I have extra stuff (TV icons, XMLTV config)
2. Uninstall from add and remove programs
3. Delete the entire MP directory.
4. Run CCleaner to remove 30 or so left over entries in the registry.
5. Install Full version of MP 0.2.0 RC2 to Program files\mediaportal
6. Run through the install only setting up general setting and weather.

7. Get Error: Unable to locate C:\program files\mediaportal\database\card_card1.xml - The database directory has not even been created at this point. I create it and copy over my old card_card1.xml and it lets me finish. At this point I look in that directory and it looks like it created a card_card1.xml.bak.

8. I then go into the config and set up my my codec's and paths to my media. I notice that it has detected my PVR-500 (2 tuners) and a Hardware dvb card (skystar 2).

9. I start up MP just to make sure it loads up without any errors. I then shut it down.

10. I then went back into the config and removed all 3 cards.

11. I download CVS 3-9-2006 01-04 and 3-10-2006 21-26.

12. I install 3-9-2006 01-04 into the mediaportal directory, overwriting all files. I then run the start.bat and go back into the config.

13. I install all 3 cards, Card1 PVR A, Card2 PVR B, Card 3 Skystar2.

14. I start MP up once again just to make sure it's starts with no errors.

15. I install 3-10-06 21-26 and run the start.bat. I then go into config to see if my skystar2 card is still in the list. It was... but when I click on it I get this error:

No video capture card(s) were found, you won't be able to configure a capture card.

Once I say ok it goes into where you would usually set it up but the card is not there. I cancle out and then remove my skystar 2 from the list. I try to add it again and get the same error message.

After doing some MORE testing I come to find out I can't even detect my PVR-500 card after I remove it.

I was also getting the error: Unable to start timeshifting when going into my TV.. so I knew something was up.

    and here happens the misstake.

do not copy a cvs-snapshot over a configured MediaPortal installation!
