Hello guys,

Mediaportal is taking a long time for starting up.. I have take a look to the logfiles, and there is always this message; "unable to detect registered filter: DVBsub2.ax!" I have did some research, and have installed Microsoft c++ 2008 en 2010 but it doesn't solve the problem..

Any one an idea? Or are there maybe other problems?

I hope anyone can find something in the logfiles..

Filter regixstration detection is done in a background thread, so it shouldn't be the reason why you have slow MP startup.

To register the filter do following:

- open cmd.exe with admin rights
- go to MP installation directory
- type "regsvr32 dvbsub2.ax"

Now the DVB subtitle filter should be registered.

Thanks! The message is now gone in the logs..

There was also a problem with the sleepcontrol plugin.. I remember that this plugin is not compatible when using fortherecord tv server, so I disabled them.. Now the error log is empty after starting Mediaportal, like it should be!

About the time before Mediaportal is starting, there are two messages when starting Mediaportal.

1. Loading window plugins.
2. Starting plugins.

The first one takes a long time (not extreme, but I think a 15/20 seconds) The other message (starting plugins) is very fast..


Any idea?
