How can i solve this problem, i tried everything... deleting temp, appying access rights to everyone, tried install previous versions 1.2, 1.1.3...

Same Problem with 1.2.3 and previous versions. Started today. Tried to reinstall Mediaportal because it was chrashing at startup, but now I can't even install it new.

Any solutions so far?

Not sure if this is related, came home yesterday to broken MP. TV client would not load. MP config tool would not load, MP tray would not load. Did system restore, used a restore point before last windows update. Still would not work. Tried to reinstall MP and received same error message you did "Unable to determine startup path. Please try running from a local drive with write access." I reinstalled the windows updates that were removed during "System Restore", now MP is working perfectly again. I believe something in the last windows update did not install correctly.

Good Luck

I'm having that bug too on Windows 10. Obviously something in Windows environment that MP installer does not like.

Turns out I have a Windows user called HTPC which has this bug.
If I switch to another user I can run the MP installers fine from there.
