Hi,
Just downloaded a freah copy of Mediaportal 1.0.2, install .net framework 3.5 sp1, restarted PC.
After starting the install I get to the list of files mediaportal needs to download.
I click install and get an error "There was an error downloading the requested file"
My internet connection seems file.

The download URL says:
http://install.team-mediaportal.com/DirectX
Target:
directx_aug2008_redist.exe

I tried going to this URL in a web browser and got a 404.
Apparently my PC already had DX9.0c installed.

Thanks
Richard

Ok, I downloaded that Direct X file from the link and installed it.
Now the install doesn't want to update Direct X but it is getting the same error on the next file (vcredist_2008_x86.exe).
Is there server problems going on or does it just not like me?

I did a bit more playing around and found that the file mediaportal wants to download through the installed in vcredist_2008_x86.exe but the file it tries to download when I go to the url http://install.team-mediaportal.com/VcRedist2008 is a file vcredist_x86.exe

So it seems like the installer has the wrong file.
Rather annoying that the fresh install doesn't work.

I thought this is a serious problem with MediaPortal, why is no one helping?
Is no one else getting this error when trying to install the program?
If not, why am I and how do I fix it?

Thanks

Just tested 1.0.2 fresh install here: all links works as expected.

You may have encountered a temporary site outage.

I am still having the problem 4 days later so it's not temporary for me.
I have tried on 2 different PC's and get the same error (both on the same network though).

    Thanks

I can only suggest to download the file from the link about or from MS site itself and install by hand.

    Then run installer again.
