Maybe (I suggest) there is an error in the mediaportal installation code that searches for an internet connection.The same error message pops up when I try &quot;only download required components&quot;.The userid I am using in XP &quot;User accounts&quot; is identified as &quot;Computer administrator&quot; - so it should have the privileges you suggest above to attempt the install.So I think I have tried your suggestions and not able to make progress with the installation of MP 1.2.1 on Windows XP.Regards,Clive Long</blockquote>
