Hello all,

I've spent the last couple of days reconfiguring my media collection to work well with this plugin, got importing down (inc specials etc), and confirmed that the shows, seasons and episodes pull through the data they are supposed to. The only thing missing is playback.

When I click enter to start a show playing nothing happens. I've also tried adding it to a playlist, no dice.

I have confirmed that they will play under the native Video tool so doesn't look like a codec issue.

Not a single file I've tried (around 30 or so?) have worked.

Any ideas?

Oh also, I'm new to this, so I'm more then happy to post logs if someone points me in the direction of where they are.

UPDATE

I've been trying a few things to try and fix this (restarting, clearing entire DB and reimporting etc) was just testing if anything would open (still no dice), but when I went to one show I got a popup saying "Resume episode from last time" clicked yes hoping it would start, still no dice. The show that caused the popup was one I had tested opening with the regular "My Videos".

I've been trying to locate the log files, according to http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/19_Reference/Folders_and_Files the log files should be logically located within a folder called logs... expect that I cannot find that folder. Is the wiki out of date? are they stored somewhere else now? any advice on locating the logs would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello and welcome

No and no... but ProgramData is normally hidden by Windows. There are various ways to get there, for example:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/19_Reference/Folders_and_Files#Program_(Application.2FUser)_Data

However, if you want to post log files for us (which would be helpful) the best way to do it is to use the tool we provide to gather them:

I've changed the settings to show hidden folders, and still no log folder, so I don't know what's going on there. Located Watchdog and ran the 'export all currently present logs' option (see attached)

    Donno if it's relevant, but:

    Running Windows 7 Professional SP1
    6GB ram
    i7 intel processor
installed MP onto a SSD, media stored on other (non SSD) drives on the same computer

Thanks for taking the time to have a look! Greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Rita

MediaPortal has a shortcut in the start menu called "User Files", it shoud open to "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\" (on Vista+) in which you should find subfolder "logs"

As to files not playing, that could be a skin issue.

Did you verify you have all the correct skin updates installed to make MP-TVSeries functional? It helps if you install Titan Extended for example.

    Hello,

I wasn't positive in the skin the default MP installer came with was Titan Extended so I searched the skin to download it, and it brought up a message that says

Another version of this extension is installed and needs to be uninstalled first. Do you want to continue?
    Old extension version: 1.7.0.344
    New extension version: 1.6.0.341

I've said no for the moment as that looks like swapping to an older version, but if MP-TVSeries would work better with 1.6.0.341 I'm happy to go to the older version (strange that it's bundled with a newer version then is available on its extension page).

    Thanks again for the assistance.

    RESOLVED

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner (sorry to bother you all!) just went into My Extensions > MP-TVSeries and there was an update available. Installed the update and now I can view files!

I must have accidentally downloaded the wrong version from the MP-TVSeries page
