Unable to play: live3-0.ts (1 Viewer)

I am getting the error 'unable to play:live3-0.ts'.when trying to watch TV
New MP installation, as single seat, looking to use instead of WinTV7 on Hauppauge DVBS2 card.
Relatively old PC (WinXP, Intel core 2, see specs on profile for the rest)
Applied 'dvbfix'
Drivers apparently up to date
TV server scanned for satellite channels OK
Can stream to VLC OK, internally and also over network to another similar PC
Statndard WinTV7 works fine.

Hi Bill

Windows XP is not supported anymore. The latest version you can use (without modifying and building your own version of MP) is 1.7.1 hotfix. That version can be acquired from our download archive on SourceForge here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediaportal/files/MediaPortal Setup/MediaPortal 1.7.0/

All fixed and running both local and also TV server - client (for no other reason than why not try it out !)
DVB-S / DVB-S2 and local file playing
