I am having an issue where I cannot record two shows at the same time.

    Here are my system specs:

    MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0 + SVN Rev11316
Windows Version: Windows XP Pro SP2
    CPU Type: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ AM2
HDD: Western Digital 500GB SATA II (WD5000KS)
    Memory: 1 GB DDR2 800 (2x 512MB) Corsair XMS2
    Motherboard: Asus M2N-E
Motherboard Chipset: NVIDIA nForce® 570 Ultra
    Motherboard Bios: 0402 (beta)
    Video Card: MSI 7600GT 256MB (NX7600GT-VT2D256EHD)
    Video Card Driver: ForceWare 91.47
    Sound Card: ADI (onboard) HD
    Sound Card AC3:
    Sound Card Driver:
    1. TV Card: Nvidia DualTV MCE
    1. TV Card Type: Analog
    1. TV Card Driver: 1.31
    2. TV Card: Vbox Cat's Eye DTA-150
    2. TV Card Type: ATSC
    2. TV Card Driver: 2.1.705.10
    MPEG2 Video Codec: NVIDIA PureVideo
MPEG2 Audio Codec: NVIDIA Audio Codec
    Satelite/CableTV Provider: DirecTV (San Francisco)
    HTPC Case: SilverStone LC17-B
Cooling: Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 HSF
    Power Supply: SeaSonic S12-430W
    Remote: Microsoft MCE (US Version)
TV: Pioneer Elite PRO-1110HD 50" Plasma
TV - HTPC Connection: DVI - HDMI

When I record an analog show with my NVIDIA DualTV card, it records everything fine. I go to watch an ATSC HD show on my Vbox DTA-150 card and the video is stuttering, jerky, and unwatchable. The audio is also out of snyc. I stop the recording of the analog TV show, and I can watch my ATSC/HD TV show just fine.

If I do not record an analog TV show and just watch/record/timeshift an ATSC/HD show, it records perfectly.

I have no IRQ conflicts, I've tested recording shows to separate drives, my X2 AMD 3800+ dual core CPU runs at about 40% on both cores when trying to record two shows at the same time. I'm fresh out of ideas.

One of the main reasons I dumped my TiVo unit was to record two TV shows that were airing at the same time. With this issue, I haven't been able to do that.

I've upgraded the Vbox drivers to the latest non-beta drivers, NVIDA doesn't have any newer version out for the DualTV... What else can I try?

I've also experienced this with the stable builds.

    Thanks everyone!

Could you run this scenario again and then attach the resulting MediaPortal log files here - they might provide a clue as to the cause....

Not a problem. When I get home I will stop MP, restart MP, run the testtool to gather all the logs and post them.

Not trying to rub it in your face, but... As I write this, I am watching OTA on the Vbox and recording from a PVR150 and a Roslyn 250.

Your system specs beat mine hands down. Really starting to think it is the NVIDIA DualTV card that is the culprit and not a MP problem.

Have you tried the usual things: move PCI slots, PCI latency, Mother Board and directx drivers up to date? Windows been on a while, maybe a clean install?

Could you get your hands on a PVR 150 and try it in place of the NVIDIA card?

    Here are the log files.

I'm also reading some VERY revealing information regarding the NVIDIA DualTV and my motherboard Nforce driver conflicts!

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=NVIDIA+DualTV+vbox+DTA-150&btnG=Google+Search

Some of the first hits on that search are revealing. The one on htpcnews.com is more detailed:

    http://www.htpcnews.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22797&pid=157293&st=45&#entry157293

Go figure! Of course I pick a combo that causes issues. I'll have to investigate more...
