I wonder if the network lag is just to slow to support the timeshifting buffer .... I know sometimes, personally, if I have two recordings going on my PC then try to watch live TV, it can have problems with all the disk activity that's going on. I'd imagine that writing over the network is going to be slower than local disk, so that could explain your issue.
