Unable to sort albums by year (1 Viewer)

Hi,

No matter what I try, I can't get MP to sort my music albums by YEAR.

I have created a new view with the following:

selection - viewas - sortby
------------------------------
genre - list - name
albumartist - list - name
album - list - album
track - list - filename

my sort modes:

name: [%artist%] - [%title%]
album: [%year%] (I was trying so many other options as well..)
filename: [%filename%]



Everything works fine, except for the albums that are displayed in the wrong order.
No matter what I try, with every single sort mode exist - I can't get the albums to be sorted by year.

What am I missing?

not at home so can't be 100% sure but do you now just change your album sortby value to YEAR (might be called DATE) ??

I was trying both of them (year and date) and none of them worked..
