Hi support gurus,

I'v downloaded and installed latest version of MediaPortal (0.2.3.0) without problems. I can run the Media Player itself, but with no configuration at all (so no media is handled :(). When I try to run the configuration.exe, the splash screen comes up, displays some information and after some seconds (while processing the filter section on the splash screen) an exception occured (see screenshot) and the process is terminated.

I deinstalled and reinstalled the MediaPlayer without success.

The application event log shows a P9 system.nullreferenceexception in configuration.exe

My system is an XP SP2 with latest hotfixes and - believe it or not - at least very stable. Other mediaplayer software (like the preinstalled PowerCinema, DScaler, VLC) all runs fine (of course not concurrently with MP!).
DirectX (9.0c) test is also successful.

Any ideas? What else can I check?

Thanks in advance, Stefan

Was this a first time install of MP, if not uninstall MP then delete the Mediaportal folder under c:\programfiles\team mediaportal (after copying it to a safe place just in case you need to restore anything).

Run Filmerit (link in sig) just in case it could be a codec issue as you state it fails when loading filters.

Reinstall with the default codecs supplied, if only for testing purposes.

Let us know how you get on.

Yes was the first installation and I tried also a reinstall. The Tip with the FILMERIT works for me. :D
filmerit figured out more than 180 problems. I dropped all and MP configuration starts up!

Now about 3 hours later I still have the problem to get my TV card running. I guess I have the same problem as discussed in this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=30245&highlight=medion+tv+card
