I Have done plenty of searching in the forums, but no solution found for the following problem. It seems no one else has had this same problem I have. It actually is the third time i'm experiencing this, and the other two times I couldn't find any other solution but doing a complete re-install of MP.
Ever since I rebooted my system a few days ago, I'm unable to start Mediaportal... The strange thing is, MediaPortal.exe is launched and loaded into the memory. I see the splash screen doing it's thing and the app shows in 'processes' tab from task manager. It occopies the normal amount of memory as well. BUT the program is nowhere to be found Not on my screen, not on the taskbar, not in the systray, ALT-TAB doesn't show it... It's just not there
I have made NO changes to my mediaportal configuration, plugins, drivers, codecs, operating system or hardware around the time this problem accured.
already tried:
- changing skins (MP config is working normally)
- disabling some plugins like Moving Pictures
Logfiles are attached, but they seem to be corrupted? Might be because the only option I have is to kill the process from task manager?
MediaPortal Version: 1.0.1
MediaPortal Skin: Black & White 1080
Windows Version: XP SP3
CPU Type: AMD 4400+
HDD: Maxtor SpinPoint F1
Memory: 4gb DDR2 800mhz
Motherboard: MSI K9N Platinum
Video Card: ATI HD4550
Video Card Driver: Catalyst 9.3
Sound Card: Onboard
1. TV Card: None
Remote: Harmani 525
TV: Samsung LE32xxxx
TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI
Maybe the following strange windows related (?) problem i've been experiencing lately with my system could be related:
If I want to shutdown my system, i sometimes have to press "start>shutdown>shutdown>OK" twice... because after the first time most of the processes and programs will be stopped, but it doesn't continu the shutdown sequence (no errors are displayed though)
I think it could be related because after the last time MediaPortal worked, It happened again...
