Hello,

i installed the TV server engine according to the video tutorials on this site. My remote is working and the USB tuner too. If i do manual control in the TV server configuration i can timeshift and grab the epg, so this is fine. If i start media portal on the client (same pc as server) the tv wont work. He hang for about 15 sec and than say he is unable to start timeshift. No video/audio detected. Thats strange because i can timeshift in the server panel.

A year ago i had a mediacenter pc with mediaportal too. With almost the same configuration (only processor is different) that worked fine after a few days of working. I tried to get it work again but it wont work, thats why i started a topic here. I hope someone can help me with my problem. I live in the Netherlands (Dutch) and use the free to air DVB-T signal.

Can you try using TVE3 version 16361, 25th Occtober, as that runs pretty good with DVB-T for me using cyberlink codecs.

In the mediaportal folder is MPTESTTOOL2, which allows you to collect relevant info for posting here using advanced feature of forum, worth running, may give a better idea of the problem.

    Cheers

Did you follow Paranoid's suggestion. Also, is it happening on all channels? If not, what channels? I have just updated to the latest TV Engine and everything is working fine.

Also check your codecs with Filemerit, as per Paranoid's sig as this may throw some light on it.

It now works better but still not good enough. Now its mostly the tv works but sometimes (read: 25%) i got the same problem. The radio is the same most of the time it works but sometimes not. I must say that i think that mediaportal dont works smooth on the pc. It's a P4 3.0 HT with 1 GB memory and 80 GB harddisk with 320 GB usb harddisk. I dont know why but sometimes he just crashes or i must wait 30 sec before the screen opens (for example the TV). Starting the TV takes about 10 sec minimal. Is this because i use the TV Server or a problem with my hardware/drivers?

Im still testing and trying some stuff. Luckily i got the Remote (ATi remote wonder) working fine now using a plugin i found on the forum. The music works fine even when i stream it from my network harddisk.

The radio is easier for me to use streams but i dont know how to use? Ive made a map with the .asx/.pls files but mediaportal dont find the streams? With the time everything is working better so i keep working on it. I hope someone can help me with the problems i got now. I will make a log file of the problems and post it when i ready.

    Greetings Shappie

Hi, i have installed MP 1 today (for third time) and at last can get things working. however although it ran well initially I now get the timeshift error on one digital channel only. The others seem to work well. Previously I have not been able to get the analog to work. This is occuring under a cybershift H.264 decoder. The ffdshow one I have listed give me audio but no video until i go to the analog channel then back to the digital? Thanks for any help/suggestions
