    Hey guys,

I'm am desperately trying to get the MS Loopback device to work with MP to get rid of my network related problems.
I tried to set up the device based on this guide:
    TV-Server FAQ - MediaPortal Wiki
    and this one:
How to install a Loopback Adapter in Windows 7 | Windows Reference

Unfortunately, I can not select the new IP address in TV Server. In the dropdown field, it simply does not show up as an option.
What do I need to do to be able to use the new adapter in TV server??

    My network setup is:
Wireless adapter IP 192.168.0.30, default gateway 192.168.0.1
    Loopback device IP 192.168.2.1

A ping to 192.168.2.1 works fine, so I assume that the configuration works in general...

    Bye,
    Sepp.

    Hey Ray,
    thanks for your reply!
I came across your tutorial when searching for a solution and it was very helpful. I exactly followed these steps, but when I enter TV server config the ip is not there. Neither reboot nor restarting the service helped.
Is the tutorial supposed to work with Win7 / MP 1.2?

    Best regards,
    Sepp

    Hi

The tutorial at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/msloopback-device-singleseat-users-51028/ seems fine but the Wiki entry isn't, as although it links to a page that suggests using 192.168.2.1 (as does the tutorial) the Wiki then says "enter the IP adress that you have configured for the MS loopback adapter (e.g. 10.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.1)" and certainly 127.0.0.1 can't be used for the IP address.

So perhaps someone could amend the Wiki to change this to 192.168.2.1. It might also be better if it linked to the forum tutorial rather than the MSDN page.
