TV: Samsung LE-40M61B
TV - HTPC Connection: DVI-HDMI
My Cable provider, Canal Digital has started trials of some HD channels running mpeg4/h.264 I think. I can tune these channels, and in the tv server manual control I can see that it starts timeshifting. But Mediaportal freezes.
I can also see the .ts buffer files beeing created, and I can open these in Windows Media Player and view the HD broadcast.
Also MP hangs if I try to play these .ts files in My Videos. So why can WMP handle this, but not Media Portal?
Here is some lines from mediaportal.log. What I find strange is this:
TSStreamBufferPlayer9:connect tsfilesource->mpeg2 demux
What is mpeg2 doing here? It's a mpeg4 stream AFAIK.
