I have installed MediaPortal 1.7.1 on a Core2Duo computer here with Windows7 x64. I have enabled Scheduler in the server of MediaPortal Server and the client. However when the computer is placed into Sleep mode it never wakes up in time to record shows.

Well I have spent 3 days trying to get this system to wake up from sleep at a scheduled time to record shows. I have lost count on how many things I have tried but the result is always the same. The computer simply continues to sleep and never wakes up on a schedule record time.

Do you have "Control Panel\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings\Sleep\Allow wake timers" set? Scheduler simply sets the wake timer in Windows.

Also, BIOS - does it allow wake timers?

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers - J.

Yup Wake Timers are set in power options. There are a series of Power options ie PCI devices PS/2 devices etc as well as RTC where one can specify in the BIOS a date and time to which to wake the computer up.

Solved the problem. The box also has linux installed so the BIOS was set to GMT. Windows has a registry setting to indicate that the BIOS time was universal time and that was set properly so that the time was showing properly within windows. However task scheduler was using the time in BIOS when it triggers events. Once I changed the bios time and disabled the setting in the registry the the pvr recordings worked fine.

Now that's a sneaky one, glad you solved it - that's one that could have circled for long long time otherwise(y)
