We got a bunch of the dev's that wrote many of the 3rd party apps for XBMC's nfo file (and images) generation together to form Team umX. We are making a cross platform unified media manager called UMM (Universal Media Manager) in c# using mono/.net 2.0

One of the cool things is that we are making it where it'll work with many different media centers. We have read/write support for Movies in any of the following formats, XBMC nfo format, freevo's fxd, mymovies.xml, and SageTv's .properties file, and i'd like to add in Media Portal as well. (i get that it'll search for the imdb from any .nfo, I'm referencing the full meta data). I'll add in tv support as well once i figure out what's what in the different media centers. A unified standard would be great, and sure making writing the media manager a lot simpler, but it's not really all that important as long as data from one doesn't kill another.

.txt, .xml, .nfo, java properties file, it doesn't really matter as it's just the output.

Let me know what ya come up with (format of nfo's that you can load up, and image naming conventions), and we will add it as a supported output format. I know most of the media centers out there have different categories, so that's a bit tricky, but those could be mapped out as well when writing out the file.

Thanks

I have reviewed your Universal Media Manager platform in the past and have a few reservations about it. If you are interested in discussing collaboration though, jump on our IRC channel and we can talk.
