Hi Guys,
Yesterday morning i turned on the htpc and was faced with "unknown error" when i tried to select a channel on live tv, tried a few restarts but no joy so today i had a proper play around.
I figured it was time for a MP reinstall so i did a full uninstall and then installed MP 1.3 RC for a look at the new build.
Did the usual scan for channels and was met with the "unknown error" message again both in live tv and in channel preview on the tv server menu.
Started to have a look around the forums and came across a couple of threads and tried the fix here - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/unknown-error-in-my-tv-and-channel-preview.83876/
to fix the mysql database. Went through the command prompt no problem but the problem still exists.
Not sure what to try next, uninstall mysql and reinstall that perhaps? Is there any point in uploading logs if the problem is not actually with MP per say? Not a problem to just have to wait until the wife goes to bed though.
In addition i know it's sacrilegious but i actually fired up Windows media centre and all channels worked without issues so perhaps it is something to do with the database.
Separate question - would anyone know why Windows media centre picks up more OTA channels than MP - found another 2 i don't get with MP.
Thanks in advance.
