'unknown error' in My TV and Channel Preview (1 Viewer)

Primary Issue: Unknown Error

I receive the same unknown error in my tv and channel preview. See thread below

I went through steps according to email but could not get the issue resolved. I repaired database and restarted service.

Note this appears to only be occurring on premium channels. I was able to previous view and record premium channels.

Additional Issue: Restarting Service does not always recognize my tuner

I have to often stop and restart the service many times for it to recognize my tuner card. Additionally sometimes it recognizes the card but fails to set the type correctly as ATSC.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

    I suggest you follow the instructions in the CableCARD thread:

    Particularly:
    1. Install the UPnP patch.
    There is also a new patch available -->here<-- which at time of writing has not been included into any MediaPortal releases. You should install it because it fixes a significant issue. Further, it is compatible with all releases of MediaPortal (including the previous patches) so there's no excuse to not to install it.

    That should at least fix this:

    2. Post log files with channel names, dates/times etc.
    As it says in the CableCARD thread:
    If you encounter a problem or something doesn't work as you'd like please provide a full description of the problem. Always include all log files and be sure to note times, dates and channel names where relevant.

    The watchdog is an incredibly useful tool. It makes gathering the log files we need a breeze:

    I can't help you with the premium channels unless you can supply these details.
