I just downloaded latest version, and installed it. I did basic configuration, nothing fancy. I used default skin. But text is unreadable. All strange characters, can anyone help?

This is what I see:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I tried Uninstall & Re-install MediaPortal, but it did not help.
Re-installing windows also does not help (even worse, now the display menu color is white instead of blue!).

    That's a problem with user access rights.
    As the exception dialog shows you don't have access to the a reg key.
    Try with an administrator account again.

    registry error only when starting setup

    Maybe I have to clearify, the .NET Framework registry error only shows when starting mediaportal setup.
    I am logged in as administrator, same way I installed the system.
    I do have spybot installed, but also when I do not have this running it gives the error.
    Other problem (strange text in dialog) is also when spybot is not resident. So probably these problems are not related.

    I have no text problem, but I get the access error to that registry when running and saving settings. This is after installing the latest mediaportal as Administrator, and running it as Administrator. It looks like a new bug?

    Update: I just checked the registry, and the whole Dscaler5 key had read-only permissions set for the Administrator and probably Everyone too (I deleted the sucker after changing the permissions manually).

    I expect there is a bug in some program or installer that set the permissions of the Dscaler5 key improperly upon setup of mediaportal.

    Did anyone find a solution to this problem ? I am having exactly the same problem after a fresh install of XP, and the latest MP. When it starts, it is fine, but after watching a movie, or whatever file, and sometimes only after a few times, it comes back to the MP menu and shows only these weird garbled characters. I'm using the default skin.
