Unreliable recording (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am having problems with recordings, sometimes they start other times they do not. At this stage I am not really interested in trying to work out why, as I will probably replace my media server in the next few weeks. One thing though, that would be helpful now, and in the new system, would be some form of notification that a recording did not successfully start.

I have it set to provide those little pop-ups when recordings start and finish- basically so that I will hopefully notice when the time comes around if they don’t (start and finish). Thing is I mostly don’t (notice) because I don’t really spend a lot of the time looking at my watch . Is there a way to get a notification of a recording failure?

Off the top of my head you can go into the schedule screen and any failed recordings will still show up here.

The only way we can help with failed recordings though is with full logs.

Thanks, but I don’t want to ‘fix’ the problem at this stage, as I say I will probably replace the lot soon, so there is not much point wasting everyone’s time addressing a problem that may well resolve itself in the new system.

I am just wondering if it is possible to get real-time notifications of recording failures. I generally record everything I want to watch and then watch it over the next few days. My point being that I am often sitting there watching the TV when a recording fails to start (I just usually don’t notice cause I am watching a show rather than checking for others starting). So if in addition to a popup which says “recording started” there was one that said “recording failed” I think that would be pretty useful.

Though I guess if the server is, in general. failsafe perhaps it is not so useful...
