This rocks. Thank you all so much for your work. This should definitely be incorporated natively.

When this gets implemented, it most likely will replace pan & scan, as not one of the MP-Team to comment on this, could find anything useful for that particular zoom mode, where 14:9 does have it's uses for certain transmissions ie. BBC 4:3 (DVB-T) will not work with smartstretch, only 14:9 works.

In which release will it be?
    Are there any announcements?

Feature freeze will end after 1.0 release. My estimate based on current pace of releases would be that 1.0 won't get released until early 2009. This could be way off but whatever. I still can't believe it is necessary to wait this long, the patch is so tiny, can't a developer just easily look at it and see it can't break anything. IMO new features have constantly been added during the "feature freeze" like pre-loading cards in tv server, etc.

    Hi IOSUB,

Just wanted to add my thanks for your patch.
I love Mediaportal, but have been struggling to get the WAF (Wife approval factor :) ) after moving over from MCE 2005 as she was unable to play any TV recordings via our 360 extender in our bedroom.
I've spent a few hours online looking first at what was causing the problem and then for a solution.
I was ready to give up when i came across this patch.

She is now a happy bunny and i can continue my tinkering with Media Portal as it is a fantstic piece of software.

I am a long time lurker but felt the need to come on and thank you for your help in providing this solution.

Its very much appreciated mate :) :D:D:D

    MediaPortal.1.0.RC2-Non-Linear Zoom-build on SVN 20331

Hi,i've builded this version based on today SVN(20331) so i think it should work with the next SVN release. It's not tested because i,m using RC2 without any SVN on this PC but it should work,so if you wanna try it remember to backup your original files first.
