deletion of my tvplugin.dll didn't affect the system...

No impact? So it seems to be a dead file or unused file. In this case it should has no effect ... also for the originally issue ...

Go ahead delete the file...see how well MP NO LONGER plays TV . tvplugin.dll is what lets you watch TV.
Perhaps someone who didn't mind losing everything and did a re-install wouldn't mind posting their tvplugin.dll to this thread so we can just copy it over.
