hi, all. I was wondering is there anyway to add my movies to the database without it having to get all the info off IMDB. I only want to tag a cover to each film nothing else, but when adding my fiilm folder (200+ films) the imdb has conflicts with half of them, so i have to manually check each one....which will take forever....thx in advance.

have you chekced the wiki MediaPortal/Configuration/Movies/Database - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

At the editor tab you can manually add movies there but this can be time consuming.

The way I do it is I change my view to share and then select each movie and then right click to bring up the on screen menu and select IMDB (or press F3 on keyboard). This will then scan that individual movie and if there are conflicts, before it downloads you can select the correct one. Again a bit time consuming but you have will have better control of what movie goes into the DB.

What happens if you delete the IMDB English entry in the MP config->movies->database->settings tab? Would this mean it does not look up any online database for info as nothing is specified in the internet database search settings?

Just highlight the line and press delete. Might be worth a try. I would give it a go but didnt want to lose any settings or scan as I have eneterd a lot of info manually.....

    Cheers,
    Colin

I don't actually have any database selected, it automatically uses imdb reguardless of if it's selected or not...

You would have thought the option to import directly would be the primary option, as the online database search is problematic at best, and rearly gets it completely right.
