Hey all - Just wanted to give a heads up.

I had read about the AIT 650 being recalled, but most of the dates were old on the articles. I looked up bestbuy and they had them. Went down to the store and they have like 5 of them just sitting there.

I bought it, installed it, And it's funny, MP was more stable then the Catalyst program it came with. :)

The card come with a free remote that you order from ATI's.Amd's Site. The online store was messed up so I called the store's customer support. The gentleman told me that the 650 should be returned to bestbuy as they have been recalled due to overheating and damaging the PC's motherboard.

I'm now trying to get ahold of Techincal support to see where the heat is coming from on the card. Can't I just attach a heatsink, or fan to it?

Anywho.. Just thought I'd share what I heard from ATI. I've seen speculation about why they were recalled and thought I'd let ya know what I was told.

Should I hold onto this card? Modify it? Anyone running one for an extended amount of time?

Imagine That - I was mis-informed by the Customer Service rep at ATI.

After talking with a Technician, he assured me that the recall issue was NOT related to heat. The recall was due to tuning issues. Not getting all avail channels.

He also stated that the cards were only out for a week about 3 months ago, they were recalled and that the one I purchased yesterday from Bestbuy is not defective.
