Updating MP with TV service? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I've been running MP for about 3 years now, until recently I lived in a cable TV area so never needed to use the TV aspect of MP, but that's no longer the case so I'm looking into satellite cards for my HTPC.

I'm running MP 1.3 without the TV server.

Is there anyway to install the TV server into my existing MP install this or do I need to start fresh?

Sorry if this is in a wiki or forum thread somewhere, I've looked all evening and not found anything :)

Yes you can add it you need to install TV Server + MP TV Client

You should be able to do this simply by re-running the 1.3 installer

    Make a backup first of
    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\

So after a long search and a lot of experiments I did find out the culprit: I did disable events of the Common Information Model Object Manager. As soon as they are disabled TV server will always show "port 554 is already bound". Enabling/disabling events is done by this reg key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM]...

I found the resolution: I had set this registry value set to 0: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM] "EnableEvents"="0" As soon as I set it back to the default value 1, TV server did no longer say port 554 is bound and TV was working. On MediaPortal 1.4.0 and earlier the reg value could be set to 0 without any problem...

Azzuro and doskabouter, got it working. Resetting the database worked. And after linking to the server via current IP and making a new db, I relinked to the original db and all settings were restored. Thanks again and Happy New Year to all!
