Your database seems to be in a state, that causes troubles.
i find a lot of errors in the log, about invalid sql statements.
    Please rebuild the database.

I just reloaded my MP box from scratch. I'm using the SVN from 2/25/07. Whenever I go into MP setup and tell it to build the database from my 12000+ mp3s, it crashes the setup program and doesn't add anything into the database. I was having the same problem with my .2.2 setup of MP too. When I get home tonight I will post system specs and logs regarding this. This is most dismaying as with .2 stable, I had my entire collection in there, and life was just AWESOME. Thanks

I apologize for taking so long to get the logs to ya'll but I've been vusy. I executed the reorganize music dtatabse from within MP, though if I go through the config program, it does the exact same thing. I let the machine sit for a full 10 mins before I killed it with task manager. I am attaching all the logs that I have for mediaportal. Hopefully this will help. My system specs are

crawdaddy, i had a similar case in the German Forum.
the logs looked exactly the same.
His problem was that he had checked in "Music Folders" some folder which was not accessible.
    this caused the hang.
    can you verify that?

There should be no reason why any folders that are specified in music folders would not be accessible, it's 2 local hard drives that are dedicated to nothing but MP3s. Now, I'm not saying this isn't possible, I will check it when I get home, but I wouldn't count on that solving my problem :(
