So I tried upgrading from 1.27 to 1.28. I upgrade frequently without issues. I did a simple upgrade, so I did not delete my user files. During the installation, I received a "unhandled exception has occurred" error. I've tried installing by only downloading the required components, but installation fails the same way. At this point I wouldn't mind starting from scratch, but I'm not entirely sure how to manually delete all MP files, and reg files, nor am I sure it would fix anything.

Any help? Currently locked out of Mediaportal. Can't install and can't fully uninstall.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

do you have some logs?
I ended up doing a clone disk recovery. I had just done a backup, and I figured I might as well test it -- it's been a while since I've gone through the recovery process. All good. :)

I had the logs, but lost them in the recovery. Sorry. :(

I believe the issue was that I had removed Windows Media Player from Windows Features. Still, something is wrong with the installer, as it shouldn't have taken a shit the way it did. I might have also removed MySQL 5.6 trying to do a clean install of MP. I figured the installer would simply reinstall MySQL, but the installer would just hang with the above error -- "unhandled exception."

Anyhow, recovered, reinstalled WMP, and upgraded to 1.28 without issue.

Thank you for the response! Glad to know MP isn't dead.
