Hi guys

Just updated to 1.1RC and as per title and I'm getting a black screen when attempting to play a video through MP. When passing the MKV through Graph Studio it plays fine:

GraphStudio:

So far I have tried:
Direct X update
Other codec packs
Rolling back ATI drivers to 9.5/9.6/9.10/10.1 and 10.2
Switching between ffdshow & MPC

Can anyone offer any advice> It works fine under MP1.0.2 and I'm out of ideas.

Well seems that post processing in FFDshow was ticked screwing it all up completely.

It now all seems to be working but I have no idea what actually fixed the issue (I tried this before)

Anyway problem solved.

Not to FIX your issue but I found the DivX codec (which does .264) played fine when the MP-MPC yeilded a black screen on my new ATi 4200 iGPU system.

I just had this very thing too. I was using FFDSHow audio in post processing to pass through the DTS-MA and TrueHD etc to my amp. But that meant some mkv tv episodes i had just would not play. I start them, black screen flickers, then i was back at the menu.

Turning this post processing off has resolved it. But im thinking now i wont correctly get my amp to process the audio? It would say DTS-MA etc on the display.

Any ideas what the actual problem is?

Ok i found out what is was in the ffdshow audio decoder settings, that was causing the issue when added as a video post processing filter. For me anyway.

If I set the AC3 to pass-through, then some videos I have (generally the ones which have two audio tracks) never load in MP RC1, and SAF 5.00 RC1. For example every mkv by CoreHD for Lost s6 have two audio tracks. A AC3 2-channel, and an AC3 6-channel. If you want more media info, let me know.

By unticking the AC3 pass-though it works fine. Ive got all the other audio formats still ticked and passing through ok, so my amp does say DTS, DTS-MA etc.

I dont know why this is so, because before i was on the MP 1.1.0 beta, and SAF 4.00 Beta (saf400beta22test6.exe). All i did was upgrade to MP 1.1.0 RC1, and SAF 5.00 RC1 go get this problem.
