I'm in the process of upgrading from 1.0.2 to RC 6. I uninstalled MP to start fresh and installed the new version. The problem I'm having is that when I scan for channels it shows no signal and picks up no channels. It worked fine this morning and the arial is fine (I have a splitter from the arial to my TV and the 2 cards, the TV is working).

Am I missing anything obvious in the setup process? I've set the cards to scan UK - sutton coldfield as they were before and I've tried all providers too.

Update: I reinstalled the drivers for the TV cards and now 1 picks up channels fine. The other is still getting nothing but static. It's all a bit odd.

Re: Upgrade to RC 6 - No signal found

I had no joy getting the cards to work, the one that did work stopped again. So I did a complete reinstall of windows and MP as I found I couldn't uninstall the old MS SQL Server and I thought that might be causing the problem. I'm using My SQL now.

I'm still having the same trouble though. I've now added logs which I hope will shed some light. When I try to tune I get no signal from the TV cards, even though there is signal in the leads that connect them to the aerial. When I first ran the MP TV server config I didn't get the database test so I wonder if MP is connecting to the db properly/at all.

Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

After a trip to irc I checked that the TV card drivers are up to date and working. They are, I get perfect reception in Windows Media Center but nothing is MePo still.

I find it odd that I'm not getting the database connection screen when I first start TV Server Config. Is this normal in RC6 or is it a symptom of whatever problem I'm having?

Update - another windows reinstall to vanilla XP seems to have got things working. I've only got one TV card installed at the moment though and I'm loathe to add the other and bork it. I guess I'll have to take the plunge sooner or later.

Thanks to the guys who helped on irc!
