Upgrading MP 1.1.1.0 to 1.1.2.0
Error message: TvPlugin and MediaPortal don’t have the same version. Please update the older component to the same version as the newer one. MediaPortal Version: 1.1.2.0 TvPlugin Version: 1.1.1.0
I got this on all my computers so I post short instructions how to fix it. It’s basically just to extract the MediaPortal installationfiles and copy a .dll file from the extracted files to your MP installation.
In this example I place the MP setupfile in C:\Temp and use 7-zip to extract (it’s free and great so go download now). If you want to place the file anywhere else and use any other app to extract you are free to do so
Close the Media Portal application. Download MediaPortalSetup_1.1.2.exe and place it in C:\Temp.
Start the 7-Zip File Manager application, go to C:\Temp and select the MediaPortalSetup_1.1.2.exe file, then hit the extract button, then hit the OK button just accepting the defaults.
Still in 7-Zip File Manager application, go to C:\Temp\MediaPortalSetup_1.1.2\deploy\ and select the file package-tvengine.exe and hit extract and the OK button, a popup comes up just hit “yes to all”. When done close 7-Zip File Manager application.
Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Temp\MediaPortalSetup_1.1.2\deploy\package-tvengine\$[66]\Windows, in this folder is the file TvPlugin.dll that you need to copy.
If you are on a x64 (64 bit OS) you copy the TvPlugin.dll file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows and overwrite the existing file.
If you are on a x86 (32 bit OS) you copy the TvPlugin.dll file to C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows and overwrite the existing file.
There is no need to restart you computer or anything like that, just start MP and things should now be ok.
