Upgrading to new Version (1 Viewer)

Hi I just have a few questions

1) I am still running an old version of MediaPortal and am wanting to upgrade. Do I just install the new version? I am wanting to keep all my settings as they currently are. By upgrading will anything change? Or is there a way to keep all my settings?

2) Also I am dieing to know what Skin(?) is used for MediaPortal in the promo video on the homepage?

It's not just a striaght upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1.1. It's a while since I did it but I'm sure I was able to reuse my databases otherwise I went for a fresh install.
1) backup to the "c:\Program Data\Team MediaPortal" directory (I think it's that in Vista also). Tak note of settings in configuration.exe
2) do a complete uninstall and fresh install of 1.1.1
3) copy the *.db files from the backup
4) configure as per previous settings - you could try copying the Mediaportal.xml back into the config directory but I'm not sure it's forward compatible

Do you have TV server setup?

My setup is currently a single seat setup. When I first installed MediaPortal I was having trouble with the network adapter, so I installed the Microsoft Loopback device to get everything running.

ianc, is is simple upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1.2?

I noticed 1.1.2 was just released recently so I thought I should upgrade.

Should I follow this guide when upgrading Updating MediaPortal - MediaPortal Wiki ?
