I am playing around with upscaling with ffdshow. At the moment I have it working with TV (via postprocess with ffdshow raw). But problem is that this also affects anything alse that uses ffdshow (xvid, avc etc...). At the moment I have made presets that uses image size to turn upscaing on and off (so nothing in HD gets upscaled) so that is not the main problem...
The main problem is that I need to deinterlace the video BEFORE it goes to ffdshow raw. At the moment I am using Dscaler video to decode the tv, but no matter what deinterlace setting i use in dscaler it still comes out interlaced. Now I know some of you will just just say 'Why not just deinterlace in ffdshow'. Well the problem as stated before is that ffdshow will upscaling everything at SD quality. So all my avi's (xvid) and mkv (avc) are being upscaled, which I don't mind, but they are being deinterlaced. Since 99.99999% of my videos are already deinterlaced it looks horrored.
Is there a way of deinterlacing the video before it reaches the posprocess, or to set up ffdshow presets to tell that the video is interlaced (or coming from the tv only)?
