First, I would like to say what a great product, cannot wait until the new TV engine is out.
At the moment I have a new TV card which is not recognised by mediaportal, can any one help in configuring it?
here is the line in the log

12/07/2006 20:35:43 device:USB 2870 Device id:mad:device:pnp:\\?\usb#vid_eb1a&pid_e357#5&2df00108&0&3#{fd0a5af4-b41d-11d2-9c95-00c04f7971e0}\{bc102acb-6095-451d-8ed6-16cf3c832ebc}

This is the only line in the log concerning the device.

The drivers are MCE compatiable too.

If there is anymore information I can provide , please ask.

Thanks

Here is the extra to add into the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml

I have managed to get it working.
I have tried to post the xml, but it gets stripped out.

Copy the eMPIA Hybrid USB-Stick Receiver definition from the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml and paste at the bottom , before </capturecards>

Replace the
capturecard commercialname="eMPIA Hybrid USB-Stick Receiver" capturename="BDA 2870 Capture" devid="vid_eb1a&pid_2870&mi_00"
with

capturecard commercialname="KWorld DVB-T 350U Device - QT" capturename="USB 2870 Device" devid="vid_eb1a&pid_e357"

and then replace
filter cat="capture" name="BDA 2870 Device" checkdevice="true"/
with

filter cat="capture" name="USB 2870 Device" checkdevice="true"/

hopefully this will help someone

Thanks

Just for the record:

On my K-world 355U I also had to change the line with tunerdevice from BDA 2880 TVTuner into BDA 2870 TVTuner.

Otherwise it works perfectly! Thanks for the tip!

Here's the details for the Kworld 350 / 355 DVB-T tuner.
Add the following to the bottom of the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file in the mediaportal directory

Code:
  <capturecard commercialname="KWorld DVB-T 350U Device - QT" capturename="USB 2870 Device" devid="vid_eb1a&pid_e355">
    <capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/>
    <tv>
      <interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/>
      <filters>
        <filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider"	checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="tunerdevice"     name="BDA 2870 TVTuner"                 checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="capture"         name="USB 2870 Device"                  checkdevice="true"/>
      </filters>
      <connections>
        <connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice"	sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice"     sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture"		sinkpin="0"/>
      </connections>
    </tv>
  </capturecard>

Kworld 399U DVBT Dual View (XP SP2)

I'm using Kworld 399U (USB) which is not recognized by MP. I've tried to modify my CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file without success.
"AF9015 BDA Device" is shown in the Device Manager.
"USB\Vid_1b80&Pid_e399&MI_00" is shown in Hardware Ids.

I've played around with this information in the file. MP 0.2.3 setup still says no capture card when I clicked on [Add].

What other information do I need?
How do I get the log information as the first post in this thread?

Thanks

    Not sure if it helps, but the 399U works fine with TV-server - maybe it's time to think about updating?

    Is TV-server only in MP v1?
    I've tried MP1 and my XP crashed during install and had problem in reboot. It rebooted even when I tried to uninstalled. Then I thought I should go back to older version.

    Does the new version still use a capture card definition file? Can you find any 399U information in that?

    No, TV-server doesn't need/use a capture card definition file - it should work with any digital tuner card with BDA-compliant drivers.
