usbuirt not working (1 Viewer)

sorry to say so but after a fresh installation im not able to get my usbuirt back to life with the server blaster suite.
the device is installed in the hardware manager with the latest driver version.
i activated usbuirt in the blaster server for sending and recieving.
now i tried to learn the IR commands in the tv-server plugin but the usbuirt does not get any data (not blinking) and i cant learn a command. is there a known problem with the latest software version or do i have a problem with my hardware?

Try the latest version of IR Server Suite, it has improved USB-UIRT support.

I have the same problem

I installed MP and the UIRT would not blink when I was trying to learn commands. I installed the IR suite and see exactly the same problem. The USB UIRT is functional and does receive commands but not when trying to learn through configuration.

can you use it with other applications in the IR Server Suite? Like Translator for instance.

It could be that the MediaPortal configuration program is interfering with the Input Service. You might need to disable USB-UIRT support in MediaPortal configuration first.

are you using the latest drivers? what other software does it work with?

I'm not quite sure how translator is setup. I went to the programs tab and clicked on NEW. It prompted to press a remote button and I did. The red LED blinked indicating that the UIRT was receiving but nothing appeared in the code window. Should the code have been displayed?

The application I use to test the UIRT is called IRHELPER. It works always regardless of whether translator, MP config or MP is running. The driver is the latest driver from USBUIRT. I tried disabling the UIRT in IR Service Config but this made no difference.

The strange part is that in the remote configuration in MP config codes are read for Learn MP Command and teh LED works but the Learn Set Top BOX commands fails and the LED never works.

I even did a new install of MP and IR suite with no change.

Your help is appreciated.

Problem solved. I picked up the solution from another forum. For some odd reason when in "learn" mode you have to put the remote about an inch away from the receiver and old it at about a 45 degree angle. I did this and it worked flawlessly both receiving and sending.

I too am struggling to get the USB-UIRT working with the IR suite. Ive tried 1.0.4.1 and 1.4.2. I also tried the 1" away from the receiver trck but it doesnt help.


I can use my USB-UIRT perfectly to receive remote codes in MP using the built in support but the MP support is problematic in that it requires a different button codes for e.g. fast forward in music c.f. say fast forward in video.

Of course my remote only has 1 code for fast forward.

I personally think the MP built in remote learning app has too many buttons or should permit multiple buttons to have the same code.

Ive tried installing the IR suites and my USB-UIRT is detected correctly in server app settings and I can get it to respond in the debug app - the first time I open the debug app. Then after it doesnt work.

In MP I disable the built in support for the USB-UIRT and try to setup the IR server plugin. I cant get it to learn codes. As soon as I hit the learn button in the app I get red text saying "failed to learn code" - even before I hit the remote button.

Also simply disabling the IR suit plugins and re-enabling the built in MP support does not allow me to use built in support. I have to completely uninstall IR server suit.

Maybe a problem with the USB-UIRT drivers? I'm using driver version FTDI 3.1.2.0 01/12/05 (or that is how they are reported in windows device manager).

MP says the firmware version of my USB-UIRT is 5.9 (march 26 2004)



Any ideas???

Fixed. Now seems to be working fine.

Followed these instructions to the letter for installation.

Then used server service setup app to disable remote support for Imon and enable it in USB-UIRT.
