I don't see why there should be description boxes in the fan art images, if they are needed for a skin the skin should include the box not the other way around.

Ex. Then errors like this would not happen. The box is too high.

This would make it easier to make different skins for the plugin when using fan art.
And of course there wouldn't be a issue with light fan art with dark description boxes which is so wrong.

Don't you all think the same?

Well, I sorta agree, they def. shouldnt be dark "boxes" in a light fanart, and not opaque. But lets assume dark fanart, some will look really good with no box at all and still be readable, while others, while dark and looking good, are just a bit hard to read if those areas arent a little more darkened while still allowing the art to shine mostly through.

I don't know, if the skins provide the box, which they certainly can, then there will always be that box there, even for fanart that dont need it. So I'm really not sure, but yes, ideally no box will ever be required.

There isnt much freedom for skins that want to display fanart anyways, they will pretty much all have to follow the general layout. And I dont think theres anything that can be done about it?

I really havent made up my mind about that one.....just some thoughts.

I think it works with the dark box in the actual fan art. That way if people dont like it, they can go and make their own custom fanart with out. I am a firm believer of if it aint broke, don't fix it ;)

I don't think it would really matter if you have a dark fan art and then add a black transparent description box. That just makes more sense than having boxes in the fan art images. (Of course white transparent on light fan art)
Anyway I'm working on this tvseries.xml for the XFace skin and it works quite well for most of the fan art like this: http://jossan.visse.nu/~spuck/tvseries_dark-fanart.png but there are some that have the description box about 5px higher for some reason and then you kind of see a few lines of it with my skin.

A question for you Inker: How can I make different listcontrols for the text lists when using dark/no fanart and another for light fan art?
I've tried the usual with <visible>Control.IsVisible(1234)</visible> but it doesn't work. ?

Ahh, I see, you are doing it differently. Looking good, but am I the only one that diggs the large episode images directly in the list like in spinsafe revolve?

You can't do the list itself differently, but what you can do is use a different background (just use different image controls behind the list). The list itself will always bind to id 50. Only way you can change the list itself would be through the use of animation triggers, but what you can do with that is relatively limited.

I might also have to remove the fade/in support for fanart, i just can't seem to get that stable when your browsing quickly. If i just set the image straight up instead of triggering the controls visibility all the times its just so much more stable (I don't think its a plugin issue, but rather with way the skin engine handles this...but i dont know). Gosh, the current state of the plugin is just such a mess....

Like the episode thumbs too but couldn't find a place for them when using fan art but I got them without fan art and big season covers --> http://jossan.visse.nu/~spuck/tvseries-nofanart.png :D

Too bad I was thinking about having black text with light fan art, I'll look into animations though.

Hehe I have actually removed most of the animation in my XML. I don't see the point really. :)

Thats nice, but not what I meant. I meant the thumbnails in the list itself, in SR they are large and you can see whats in them, in your example i can barely make out that there is something there ;-)

Ah you mean beside the text in the text list. :)
I like to see more episodes though. :p

Is it possible to remove them? I don't like to have them there! :)

    Nope. :(
    If I do this:
    <itemWidth>1</itemWidth>
    <itemHeight>1</itemHeight>

They kind of disappear but a small dot.
If I set it to 0 they do not disappear in fact they get as big as the original image. :(
