i did a clean install of windows including mediaportal of course. anyways... i used to use the cyperlink codec - it was version 6 though. now i upgraded to powerDVD7 and there are no settings for it in the MP configuration although i can select it as encoder.

i always get the best results with this codec. is the configuration in powerDVD also effective for MP? or do i have to downgrade again to version 6???

For now you have to configure the codec using e.g. the PowerDVD app. We're aware of those settings not being accessible via MP config, DMAN will surely put that in as well anytime soon. (He did the other settings pages for the codecs.) Even for V6 there is nothing you could do in MP that you couldn't set up in the PowerDVD app. It's pure convenience, so no worries.

I adjusted the settings in the PowerDVD 7 options (e.g. the use of SPIDIF).

When I use the audio decoder of Cyberlink in mp, which I selected in the config of mp, e.g. in the television section then I get no digital data to my external AC3 decoder. Decoder settings in mp config. are not avaiable.

If I use the MPA Decoder (selecting it in the tv section and selecting SPIDIF in the mp config internal decoder settings) the Digital Data Stream will be send.

I think the cyberlink codec uses default settings while there are no special decoder settings avaiable in mp config.

any idea? (sry for my english)

PDVD7 stores these preferences not only for each user but also for each application. Yesterday I installed MP v0.2.3.0 RC1 with the latest SVN, and it now has the option to set PDVD7 directshow filter options, so I guess that would be the easy option.

Alternatively, what you could do is find the following registry key: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\Common\CLAud\MediaPortal, and then set 'AuDsDnmx' to 2, and 'AuDsInterface' to 4 (that's what I used to do before yesterday!).

    Hope that helps.

    Oh yes!

BIG THANKS! Thanks for your perfect advice! :D

I installed the latest SVN and it worked. I just selected SPIDIF in the PDVD7 Decoder Settings in MP Config. There is even a special H264 Decoder setting in the TV and movie section in MP Config.

    great job
