Hello,

I just mounted my flat screen PC. Put my L and R speakers on nice stands, but have no good place for the center speaker. The easiest would be if I can use the TV as center speaker. I have to check output voltages of the my receiver and see if that matches line in on the TV. But even better would be if I can use ffdshow to sent audio for ac3 and dts screen ALSO to the normal WAVE out.

Is there a way to split of a copy of the digital stream (that goes out via SPDIF to receiver) and decode it to go out over WAVE out?

Other tips are welcome as well!!

No, because you can't send the same signal to more than one audio output device in Windows (the digital and analog outputs are normally separate sound devices).

You could just run without a centre speaker i.e. use a 'phantom' centre - just go into the receiver setup and set the centre speaker to 'none'. What happens in this case is that the centre channel audio is added equally to front L/R so that it appears to come from half-way between the L/R speakers.

I run my system like this - I have a FL/FR/SL/SR speaker setup (no centre or sub, and 4 x full-range speakers).

One option if your centre speaker isn't too deep is to put it behind the TV. I'm currently doing this in my bedroom (just got rid of a big cabinet prior to moving house) and the audio quality and volume are not suffering at all.
