Using MCE remote to control my external Sky Digibox (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone, hoping someone can help with this, im trying to get my sky box working with MCE IR blaster, i load up myblaster, it learns every code perfectly. However, when i hit the test button, the IR blaster flahes into life but absolutly nothing happens on the sky box, doesnt blink to indicate its recieved any IR signals, i have tried setting up my TV to make sure its not the new sky boxes being a problem however it does exactly the same thing.

any help on this would be awesome cause im just this tiny step away from having a perfect media comp, just this little thing thats driving me absolutly mad. thanks in advance for any help you can give, if there is anyone other way of controlling the sky channel that would be cool too (maybe serial cable or some magic im not aware of)

MCE IR-Blaster

Hi

Have you tried different positions for the ir-blaster. It was'nt stable for me to put the ir-blaster directly on the Pace Box. I have my ir-blaster placed 3-4 cm from ir-receiver on the box.

Perhaps experimenting with the distance between the Pace remote and MCE blaster box during the laerning process could help you (i use about 5-10 cm).

Iv experimented with putting the blaster in various places, even tried to work out where the reciever was to place it over it, still nothing, will try the suggestion with learning the commands.

Im looking at the information for the box i have (the new 2006 one) and its listed interfaces dont list IR, just IF input, might be a typo *fingers crossed* Heres the link so i can get a second opinion: http://www.amstrad.com/products/digisat/drx550.html

Got it working! found exactly why it wasnt working properly, damn IR port on my laptop was enabled (didnt know id even reinstalled the drivers x.x) tried it after turning it off and it works perfectly.

Im now in the process of sorting out all my channel information and giving it a test, thanks for the help guys
