Using Multiple My Videos Plugins? (1 Viewer)

I have tried to find the answer to this myself for the past week and just can't seem to figure it out...

Is it possible to "clone" My Videos or Moving Pictures so that I have several video options from the basic home screen? For example I could have options for "Kids Movies" & "Home Movies" from the home screen each going to a differently configured My Videos plugin with a different database?

My main reason for wanting to do this is I want to lock down my main movie collection (too many violent/sexual titles) so when my younger nephew comes over he can only access the "kids movies" or "home movies" sections.

No need to clone or something, just move your kids movies to a separate folder, set it up in mediaportal configuration->movies and then put a pin on your main movie collection. Doesn't have to be 128bit encrypted, a simple number will do. Then every time you want to watch a movie you just enter that number and you access your videos.

Will this block the posters/descriptions as well, or will the kids movies be mixed in with my movies? I really would prefer to have them completely separated if that's possible, thanks for your help Frenzy.

I can't help you with other options, but, for what it's worth, this is not currently possible with Moving Pictures...

Yeah I have been after this for a while. Mediaportal is very lacking in media management. Ideally we would be able to set up buttons for various video types like Family Videos, Funny Videos, Movies, TV Recordings, TV Series, etc. With the introduction of Moving Pictures and My TVSeries, we now have three separate video categories. In your case put your movies in two separate folders and configure MyVideos with one and Moving pictures with the other. eg Kids got to MyVideos to watch their movies and you go to Moving picture for yours.

Yeah I have been after this for a while. Mediaportal is very lacking in media management.

Especially in the TV section and the handling of channel groups...

...my son can look hardcore channels!!!

I have it set up so that you press back arrow (from default folder in filmstrip view // or you could use ".." in list view) then it comes up with folder list. then 1 click to get the folder you want to use.
