Where should I start to troubleshoot why my PC does not go back to sleep? I use Powerscheduler ++ which has worked fine up until this last week, it is waking up for scheduled recordings, but stays on and does not go back to standby unless I do it manually. I have shut down, rebooted, and re-installed powerscheduler++ so far...

    Hi there,

Please put mediaportal/tvserver into debug mode and provide log files - instructions of how to do this can be found in the wiki.

    Thanks,

    J.

I went into Powerscheduler++ and set to standby after 5 min, opened in debug mode and left idle for longer than 5 min, came back and it was still running/had not entered standby, and generated these logs.

I also went in to cmd.exe and ran (powercfg -requests) to see if something in windows was preventing sleep/standby and nothing came back in there.

Just to say that I have a simlar problem with 1.5, it DID work under 1.4 but my PC has >never< liked standby (VERY annoying) so I've always had to hibernate (not too annoying).

It will hibernate if I go in and make it happen but doesn't if I just wait - so it might be a stupid configuration issues (but I have issues with that...!).

(I'm currently dealing with my other problem, so this isn't so important yet.)

I now believe this is a Windows problem and nothing to do with MediaPortal. I am getting conflicting responses when running the powercfg -requests command and have tried various override settings that I have found through searching the web (powercfg -requestsoverride) so now I have set PowerScheduler to control standby instead of windows and I think it is doing better, I'm still monitoring to see, but at least for now it is not staying on constantly when not being used.

You have entries like this in your logs (output of poiwercfg /requests):
    Code:
2013-09-18 14:10:19.256143 [PS StandbyWakeup(15)]: PS: Requests preventing Windows standby: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume5\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\mscorsvw.exe
I do not know what this belongs to, but there is something that prevents standby on your system...
