Hello.

I wonder if it would be possible to extract the EPG data out of the teletext data most if not all tv channel transmit along with the tv program?

Let me explain.

I have an ordinary TV that can extract the information from teletext pages if I tell it what page it should begin to search. The different tv channels usually have this information on page 600 and up (atleast they do here in Sweden). Once the TV has gone through some pages for the relevant data it can show this data in a table and it can also show how far it has come in the tv-show based upon the time on the teletext pages. The TV do this simultaneous while I whatch the channel but when I switch to another channel it forgets this data and has to retrieve the data for the new channel.

I know Media Portal have support for viewing teletext, although it is still somewhat buggy and the layout is not what it should be (I know it will probably get better in the future).

Would it be possible for Media Portal to read the teletext data while watching a channel and extract the information conatained on page 600 and up and save that information to be used as EPG data?

Now I know that when using DVB-S/C/T based reception MP can use the EPG directly from these streams but when using analogue reception this isn't possible, unless using third party programs such as XMLTV (XMLTV works just fine).

Edit:
I should have searched a little bit... https://www.team-mediaportal.com/news/global/tvengine_version_3.0.html... I interpret "teletext grabbing" to be what I was wondering about...
