Using TV Server with a STB... the other way (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm interested in access/playing tv-server streams on a STB, not the other way around. I have a STB (Motorola 19xx) box that I have been creating a UI for and it seems to me that the perfect companion is the TV-Server and it's ability to send selected channels as as ip mutlicast/unicast. (And to record as well of course).

I know this is not the typical use of TV Server and I must say that I also use the MediaPortal on both a PC (Running Vista) and a Mac-Mini (Running XP) and love it.

So the question is, I guess, does the TV Server support RTP/RTSP to retrieve channels or any other standard based approach to ask for them?

So know I have searched around (something I should have started doing... sorry) and found that there is RTSP support but I'm not finding the right documentation, I think. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

I would like to:
1. Be able to request every available station with a different URL
2. Start time-shifting for the requested channel (once requested, if not in progress)
3. Use RTSP based trickplay.

You'd be better of creating a plugin for TV Server that interacts with your STB to tune the channel and then provide a url to access it.
