Hi all,

at the moment (0.2RC2 CVS from 2.1.) MP's DVD Navigator is not useable for me.
- there is no possibility to go to the DVD Menu (used to work with menu button)
- some DVD only show black screen (sound works)
- from fullscreen TV DVD's don't start at all (MP hangs)
- and some things more ...

So I integrated VLC as external player as long as that issues are not repaired.

There are some lacks of comfort:
- it is not possible to start from the point I last time exited the DVD (but MP still asks for it)
- also VLC I can not start from fullscreen TV - only from myVideos
But at least it's a reliable working solution.

In order to make it idiot proof - eh sorry - wife and children proof I switched to 'no autoplay at all' (or what ever this option is called) because when tryin' to start DVD from fullscreen MP hangs). So I told wife and children: 'you have to insert the DVD and then start it from myVideos!'.

Here the HowTo:

- download VLC: http://www.videolan.org/ and install it
- activate VLC as external player in MP Setup: DVD - DVD Player - User external Player
- use this as "Path/Filename": C:\Programme\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe
- use this as "Parameters" ('e:' is my DVD drive): --intf=dummy --dummy-quiet --video-on-top --fullscreen dvd://e: vlc:quit

that's it. Here the irremtoe.ini section for Hauppauge users:

Since a while MP also forgets to restart the irremote when loosing focus but which MUST be started in order to use the remote with VLC. So I unchecked "Autostart Mediaportal ..." in the general settings and start MP in Windows' Autostart AFTER the start of irremote.

Hope that helps somebody (and hope that the devs soon take care for the DVD navigator :( )

thanks+regards
